       Leah Juelke is a decorated professional who has a passion for all things related to education. She has experience in designing and implementing professional development training courses for institutions and organizations around the globe, as well as managing projects that have created a positive impact within her community and beyond.

       As a 15 year veteran of the classroom, Leah's dedication to education earned her the title of  2018 North Dakota Teacher of the Year, as well as many other accolades. She was named one of the top 10 teachers in the world in 2020 by the Varkey Foundation and was honored as a Global Teacher Prize recipient. 

Leah has worked with K-12 students of all ages and nationalities, as well as with adults and young adults within post-secondary .

Leah earned her Bachelor's in Education and ELL  as well as her Master's in Education: Curriculum & Instruction from North Dakota State University. She has earned 45+ credits beyond her master's degree and started working on a doctorate degree in 2019. 

As a leader within her field, Leah has taken on the roles of department head, instructional coach, literacy coach, EL case manager, debate coach, speech coach, trip leader and professional development leader. She was even a squad leader and educational trainer during her time serving as a medic in the U.S. Army.  

       Leah's experience and areas of expertise include instructional development, design & facilitation, copywriting & editing, project management, advising, global education, refugee & immigrants, social-emotional learning, and equity & diversity. 

As a project manager and founder of the Journey to America Project, Green Card  Youth Voices: Fargo Project and the We Are America: Fargo Project, Leah helped to amplify the voices of her refugee and immigrant students by successfully creating an environment of inclusion and empathy, while engaging them with the community and empowering them to advocate for social justice. In addition, Leah designed and is facilitating a course that education professionals can take through the local university. The course uses the students'  Journey to America stories as the text, along with other resources to help foster empathy and understanding and good teaching practices for our refugee and immigrant population.

        Leah gives back to her local community through creating and managing 2 university scholarships to help local refugee and immigrant students achieve their dreams of post-secondary education. She is also a co-author of the book "Creating a Sense of Belonging for Refugee & Immigrant Students", along with four other state teachers of the year. 
       Leah has traveled to over 27 countries and has taught in Ecuador, China, Costa Rica, Taiwan and Mexico. In 2015, she traveled to Tanzania and lead professional development for local teachers. She is also an international learning and development trip leader for an organization that provides experiential professional development trips around the world.

       Leah partnered with the 2020 Global Teacher Prize Winner, Ranjitsinh Disale, and she is now the co-founder and an executive director of the Ranjitsinh Disale Educational Foundation, supporting educational projects in 10 different countries.
